A Quality Furniture Factory That Brought Finnish Craftsmanship to the World

The Turku-based company Boman was known for its durable, high-quality furniture and exceptionally skilled carpenters. Founded in 1871 by 26-year-old Nikolai Boman (1845–1923), the company began as a small woodworking shop bearing his name.

Boman’s craftsmanship was appreciated by Russian aristocrats during the imperial era, as well as by the official buildings and bourgeois homes of independent Finland.
