Very rare armchairs (2 pieces), design Alvar Aalto, manufactured by OY Wilhelm Schauman AB Jyväskylä, Finland, 1939. Ordered as a custom work for the New York World's Fair restaurant. Reupholstered with high-quality Lauritzon fabric. The frame of the armchairs is birch and birch plywood. The armchairs are sold together.

Although the design is not typical Aalto, it represents the Finnish design of the 1930s. The armchairs are quality work by Schauman, who decorated several public buildings and homes during that time.
